A message from Zach Wray, President and CEO & Steve Weinger, Board Chair.

DSPs are critical to the care and assistance of the people which Sunrise supports. DSPs promote dignity, independence, and enable decision-making. They are educators and companions who keep people safe and assist with anything a person would need.

4.6 years—that is how long the average person will stay at a job. Michael J. Hart, Vice President of Customer Service and Operations Support, decided to multiply that by 8. After 37 years, Michael is retiring from Sunrise.

Abi Kurian, Day Program Supervisor for the Eureka Day Program promoted an arts and crafts contest amongst the residents throughout the South Miami-Dade Operations. The inspiration and enthusiasm displayed was truly heartwarming.

Thanks to Jolynne Mendez, Director of Operations, Central Miami Dade, for working on a project creating “Thank You” cards, addressed to health care workers who are on the frontlines treating patients with COVID-19 at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Obviously at this point in time, safety and social distancing are our top priorities. But that doesn’t mean that connecting with others has to stop. A sense of connection and human interaction is vital to our well being – especially now.
