We are proud to share that Sunrise Children’s Services was recently featured by United Way Suncoast in a heartwarming story highlighting how the right connection at the right time can make a meaningful difference in the life of a child.
The story introduces Isabella, a bright and kind young girl who attended a summer camp offered through Sunrise Children’s Services. When Isabella arrived at camp, staff noticed that she was shy and often held back from fully participating. They soon learned that her glasses had broken, and the cost of replacing them had become a financial barrier for her family.
That is when a simple connection helped make a difference.
Sunrise Children’s Services connected Isabella and her family with Lions World Vision Institute, where she was able to receive a new pair of glasses at no cost.
What happened next was about so much more than seeing clearly.
Once Isabella received her new glasses, staff began to see her confidence grow. She became more engaged in camp activities, participated more fully, and began showing more of the bright personality they knew was there all along. Her mother was grateful not only that Isabella could see clearly again, but also that an unexpected financial burden had been lifted from their family.
Isabella’s story is a beautiful example of what can happen when organizations and community resources work together to recognize a need and help a family overcome a barrier.
At Sunrise Children’s Services, we are grateful to United Way Suncoast for sharing Isabella’s story and for their continued support as a funding partner. We are also thankful to Lions World Vision Institute for providing a resource that made such a meaningful difference for Isabella and her family.
Sometimes something as simple as a new pair of glasses can open the door to greater confidence, participation, and possibility.
We are incredibly proud to have played a small part in helping Isabella shine. 💙|
