Sunrise Community was proud to participate in this year’s Family Cafe Resource Fair in Orlando, Florida, where our team had the opportunity to connect with individuals, families, advocates, and community organizations dedicated to supporting persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Throughout the event, our booth welcomed many families seeking information about available services and supports. Our team enjoyed sharing how Sunrise Community empowers persons supported to live meaningful, fulfilling lives while providing guidance on our intake process and helping families better understand the resources available through the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).
In addition to speaking with attendees, our staff participated in educational sessions presented by APD representatives and state legislators. These discussions provided valuable updates on services, advocacy efforts, and opportunities to continue strengthening support for Florida’s disability community.
One of the highlights of the conference was connecting with fellow providers from across the state. Events like the Family Cafe create meaningful opportunities to collaborate, exchange ideas, and work together toward improving services for persons with disabilities and their families.
Our team also enjoyed exploring the exhibitor hall and supporting talented artists from the IDD community by purchasing artwork and celebrating their creativity and entrepreneurship.
This event was made even more meaningful through the collaboration of several Sunrise Community departments. Staff from Multimedia, Government Relations, Community Resources, and Intake worked together to educate families, answer questions, and serve as ambassadors for Sunrise Community’s mission.
We extend our sincere thanks to The Family Cafe for hosting another outstanding event and to everyone who visited our booth. We look forward to continuing to build relationships, advocate for inclusive communities, and support individuals and families across Florida.
