THANK YOU to the Miami Foundation & Our Donors

Thank you Miami! The Miami Foundation's Fifth Annual #GIveMiamiDay was another record-breaker!! Thank to the generosity of donors across South Florida the 24-hour online giving event successfully closed with more than 29,000 donors raising more than $9.1 million for local nonprofits like Sunrise. In addition, Sunrise reached our own milestone during #GiveMiamiDay with our #Reach25 campaign! With the help of #GiveMiamiDay, Sunrise will now be able to retrofit our 25th group home with hurricane shutters and weather resistance safety upgrades. We extend our deepest gratitude to all those who gave. This holiday season we are profoundly grateful to live and work in such a philanthropic community.

Inclusive Voices: Volunteer, Self-Advocate & Soccer Fan Celebrates #InclusionWorks

2016 marked 70 years of celebrating Disability Inclusion in the workplace. This year's theme was #InclusionWorks. Inclusion works because accommodations help employers realize the contributions of workers of all abilities.. Save-The-Date: Are you Ready for Some Dodgeball?

April Fools' Day is celebrated every year on April 1 by playing practical jokes and spreading laughter. Whether you are the prankster or the pranked, the good news is that science has repeatedly shown that laughter does a body good. Laughing is a great form of stress relief. That makes April Fools' Day the perfect time for Sunrise of Central Florida's First Annual Dodgeball Tournament. Expect the light-weight, but deadly accurate power balls to be flying on the 1st! Now this is not the dodgeball of your elementary school nightmares… or maybe it is. Sunrise’s unique fundraiser will feature the twenty-one dodgeball teams from Polk County (and the surrounding areas.) They will be competing in the fun, fast and furious instant classic.in Lakeland at the Kelly Recreational Complex from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Give Miami Day, the biggest annual giving event in South Florida, is coming to Miami for 24 hours on November 17th. Please help Sunrise reach our goal of protecting 25 group homes through our Adopt-A-Group-Home Program. Giving starts at midnight one week from today!
