October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and Sunrise would like to encourage all our employees to participate. The purpose of National Disability Employment Awareness Month is to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.

Each year the Florida Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (FADSP) recognizes DSPs throughout Florida who have made a significant impact in the lives of people with disabilities. This year, Sunrise’s very own Oliguine Robergeau, was selected as an honoree for her selflessness and commitment to the people she serves. We are so proud to have Oliguine on the Sunrise team. Thanks for all you do!

Without the years of grassroots organizing, protesting, and litigation, all for the advancement of the disability community, there would be no Americans with Disabilities Act today. We have outlined several ways to be an ally for people with disabilities and continue to fight for accessibility and inclusion.

We are thrilled to announce that our very own Cassandre Joseph was selected as the 2021 Florida Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Year among hundreds of other exceptional nominees!
