Jennifer Tissot is the newest Executive Director for Sunrise in South Carolina. Jennifer was born and raised in the Lowcountry, shucking oysters, and drinking sweet tea. She has been working hard over the past 13 years, providing quality programming to youth and adults with disabilities. Jennifer has dedicated herself to her life’s mission of serving as many people in her community as she can. This mission helped her quickly grow the Adult Day Health Care program from 10 people to 95 people. Jennifer believes in building a strong community and serving those in need in the best possible ways to strengthen the community.
I am really excited to be a part of the Sunrise team. I am impressed with the attention that is given to the people we serve. I am so glad to provide that type of service to the people of South Carolina. I’m also really looking forward to meeting, in person, other people in the Sunrise organization.

We asked Jennifer to share a little bit about herself, here’s what she had to say:
I live in Charleston, South Carolina, with my husband Nathan and our three boys Aidan (17), Avery (14), and Charlie (13 months). We like to travel, be outdoors, and we consider ourselves “foodies.” I have been a volunteer coach for the Special Olympics for several years. Currently, I’m coaching a cheerleading squad, but I have also coached tennis, basketball, swimming, bocce, and bowling. I am technically an ordained minister and became ordained to marry my best friend and her partner. Years later, she became ordained to marry my husband and me. I love community theater. I have auditioned and played multiple roles in different plays over the years. I enjoy the makeup, lights, the thrill of being in front of a live audience, and especially the comradery with other interesting and funny actors.
