Sunrise Community Attends the FARF Legislative Fly-In!

On January 14–15, Sunrise Community proudly participated in the Florida Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (FARF) annual Legislative Fly-In held at the Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee. This impactful event brought together providers in the intellectual and developmental disabilities services industry to meet with state senators and representatives, advocating for the needs of the people we serve.

Our State Director, Director of Government Affairs, and Community Resource Specialist participated in this year’s effort, engaging with Legislators and State Representatives. This meeting provided our organization with the opportunity to share our mission, highlight the progress we’ve made, and gain support toward advancing our requests.

The FARF Legislative Fly-In is more than just an event, it’s a space for connection, education, and advocacy. It’s where stories are shared, voices are amplified, and group efforts create momentum for meaningful change.

We extend our gratitude to FARF for organizing this powerful event and to our fellow advocates for standing strong in our shared purpose. Advocacy is at the heart of what we do, and together, we’re shaping a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
