We are excited to announce that Violet Gonzalez has joined the Sunrise team as Director of Government Affairs. As a Florida native, Violet has a profound understanding of the Florida legislative system and has worked to advance the lives of people with disabilities for over 18 years. She has worked tirelessly throughout her career to solidify strong relationships with stakeholders and critical decision-makers in Florida. Violet has secured funding for programs and services not funded by Medicaid through these efforts. During her career with MACTown, a south Florida provider with a similar mission to Sunrise, Violet was awarded several funding requests that helped people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

In her new role with Sunrise, Violet will work closely with the Florida operations to understand their needs and find policy-related solutions. She will also build and improve upon community relationships, helping local politicians become familiar with the programs and services offered by Sunrise. We look forward to the invaluable work Violet will do on behalf of Sunrise and the people we serve.
