Resources for Independence Virginia
Wayne Johnson has been with Resources for Independence of Virginia (RIVA) for 20 years and has enjoyed every moment of it! Before Wayne became an employee of RIVA, he was a volunteer for RIVA. He volunteered his time by planning and throwing parties for the individuals at his home once a month. In his time with RIVA he started as a Direct Support Staff, went on to become a Residential Program Director managing four group homes and Wayne is now the Director of Operations for eight Residential Programs. Our individuals adore Wayne and enjoy every time he visits their group home and they also love to stop by and visit Wayne in his office. Wayne makes a difference in the lives of the individuals RIVA supports by getting to know them, spending time with them and advocating for them. When you talk with Wayne about RIVA and the people he works with and works for, you can tell how much he loves his job and each one of our individuals. There is no doubt that the individuals Wayne helps to support love him in return. We look forward to another 20 years from Wayne and we thank him for his service to RIVA. Wayne is living the RIVA mission – to support individuals with disabilities to live a valued life! We value Wayne Johnson!
