Next Saturday, May 19th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Jorge Mas Canosa Center, Commissioner Idania Llanio will be hosting a free and fun-filled event for local families. There will be games, food, face painting and more! A special panel comprised of professionals from the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) and Sunrise Community will be present to address questions regarding services that are available for people with disabilities.
What’s more, there will also be a special art exhibition exclusively featuring the works of our Sunrise Community artists and curated by our art instructor Esmeilyn Tejeda. Esmeilyn will also be present to talk about some of the benefits creative outlets, such as painting and sculpting, provide people with disabilities and the importance of making it a part of early childhood development. Children will also have a chance of expressing their creative sides at our aspiring artists’ station where painting and drawing materials will be provided.
So be sure to come out on May 19th for a day of fun the entire family can enjoy!
