A Blast of Color to Welcome the Spring Season 2018

By Niles Dookie on March 16, 2018

In just a little over two weeks, Sunrise Community’s Institute of Fine Arts will be hosting its first art show for 2018. Come join us at our Eureka Adult Day Training center located at 11241 SW 184th Street in Miami, Florida on Saturday, March 31st at 4:30 pm to see our second floor transformed from the usual activities area into a diverse gallery of unique, one-of-a-kind art pieces created by over 15 different artists. All the pieces are available for purchase, from as low as $10 and up with the proceeds going to the artists who created them. There will also be a chance to win an art piece of your own by purchasing a raffle ticket for $1.The winner will be announced towards the end of the evening. The proceeds from this raffle will go into funding the needs of the art program.

Many of our artists will be present for you to meet in person and one of them, Mr. John Bauer will be painting live!

John describes himself as a pop art urban artist and likes to incorporate some of the stylistic choices in Wynwood’s street murals into his own colorful, multi-cultural vision. Being of mixed heritage, multiculturalism plays a heavy role in his artistic direction. His signature collection, “Mask-Up” plays tribute to his personal life story and his passion for both gaming and popular animation. Aside from his artistic aspirations, John is also a professional gamer and, back in 2016, ranked in the top 100 in the world for the popular first-person game “Call of Duty.” Recently, John has begun experimenting in his work by rearranging the roles of famous anime and cartoon characters.

Entrance is FREE, music will be pumping, and refreshments will be readily available. So mark your calendars and come join us for a memorable night and support a great cause!
